We Remain

 Jacob. Smitter © 2005

Verse 1

Freedom was the dream of a few men of faith

Through prayer and supplication, they earned God’s grace

Our nation was born, the greatest ever seen

The oppressed set sail, to realize their dream

With humility and thanks they’d proclaim…

Chorus 1

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

We will honor Him and walk in His ways

His Word is true, He will honor you

His promise is revealed in all we do

Verse 2

Our Heritage was forged from the golden rule

Blessings and abundance overflowed

How soon some would forget how we arrived

With fervor they would strive - to remove God from our lives

But, firm we choose to stand upon God’s Word

Chorus 2

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

We will honor Him and walk in His ways

We’ll pray and agree to restore the unity

That our forefathers proclaimed in Jesus’ name –

One nation under God, we remain.

Bridge

And the Word of God was found in every home,

And in Washington – it’s carved in stone!

And the flag was raised in Jesus’ name

One nation under God was proclaimed!

Chorus 2

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

We will honor Him and walk in His ways

We’ll pray and agree to restore the unity

That our forefathers proclaimed in Jesus’ name –

One nation under God, we remain.
